Sellers Guide

Biz Sales Direct work with you in partnership every step of the way.

Selling a business can be both time consuming and complex. Why risk it? Our job is to minimise the stress on you as well as avoid expensive pitfalls. All you have to do is focus on what you do best; running your business.

Business Sales Direct provide a more personalized service. Rather than having lot’s of listings, we focus on SELLING the businesses we do have. This may mean fewer listings, but we prefer to let our results do the talking.

“It’s the little details that are Vital. Little things make big things happen”
John Wooden

Here is what we do for you:

  •  Market your business professionally.

  •  Sell your business discreetly and confidentially without any interruption in the
    .day-to-day business.

  •  Work with you to maximize your business value.

  •  Screen and qualify buyers and only bring to you those who are ready, willing and able.

  •  Provide the necessary separation between you and the buyer during negotiations.

  •  Work through the details of financing and close the sale.

Here are the steps to our process:

Initial Meeting:
The process starts with a preliminary, no-obligation meeting that is scheduled at your convenience. General information is exchanged, so that we can become acquainted with each other and our respective businesses.

What is your business worth?
We work with you to establish a price range that we think you could expect to achieve for your business, we will require the following:

3 years of detailed and up-to-date financial statements, including:

• Profit & Loss
• Balance Sheets
• Tax Returns

A list of plant and equipment (furniture, fixtures, inventory, trade names, patents and other assets) to be sold with the business.

• Property and equipment leases.
• Any contractual relationships of the business.
• Other information which influences business operations.

Sale of Business Proposal

We work with you to establish an asking price and the terms of the Sale. We then create a unique campaign to market your business to potential buyers. The cornerstone of this campaign is a detailed Information Memorandum, which educates buyers about the business operation, premises, and future potential of the business.

In addition to this, we often use video presentations of businesses to share via social media. Using Biz Sales Direct extensive buyer database and search resources we promote your business to specific targeted buyers, as well as the general public on major Business for Sale websites.

These can include:

“It is in our interest to sell your business.
It’s how we get paid. When we take on a business to sell, you can be absolutely certain that we intend to sell it”.

John Van Hulst.

Authority to Act:

Should you accept the proposal, a Form 6 is completed, allowing us to act on your behalf for a specified time period and under specific terms and conditions.

Buyer Screening:

Any interested buyer must first sign a Confidentially Agreement. Following up with a phone call, we then determine if they are in a position financially to purchase your business and whether it will be a good fit for them.

Business Operations:

During the entire process you continue to maintain and improve on your business operations as though you are going to continue indefinitely. This could take some time, and you don’t want complacency to deteriorate your hard won gains to date. You are also responsible for providing current and/or additional information as requested by buyers.

Biz Sales Direct confidentially organize business viewings at your convenience. We are required by law to present all offers, and will conduct all negotiations on your behalf. Working as a team with your professional advisors (accountants/solicitors), our aim is to maximize the value of your sale. If the buyer is satisfied, a deposit will be taken and held in the Vendors Solicitors trust account.

Biz Sales Direct oversees the preparation of contracts to ensure legal documents are correctly signed dated and followed up as necessary to minimise possible delays.
